NEWS : ASTIER DEMAREST to participate in development of AFNOR norms

Updated : 05/10/2016

Oriane Tascone, manager of the ASTIER DEMAREST laboratory, has joined the AFNOR Standardisation Committee for “essential oils.”

The committee brings together professionals from the regulatory and scientific domains with the intention of creating and updating the AFNOR norms applied to essential oils and correspondence of those norms with ISO international standards.

Subjects covered include vocabulary, nomenclature, specification of essential oils, and methods of analysis to permit characterization of oils (physical, organoleptic, chemical, and chromatographic characteristics).

These norms are re-evaluated every five years and apply to all sectors of our profession: perfumery, cosmetics, food and pharmacy industries, support products, ambient perfumes, and phytosanitary applications.
